In recognition of his clinical services as a spine surgeon, Dr. Yogesh K. Pithwa has been awarded the “International Health Professional of the Year” for the year 2006 and the “21st Century Award for Achievement”, by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, the UK. He has been included in the Marquis’s “Who’s Who in the World”, 2006 edition, an annual book published from the US and recognized internationally as the premier biographical data source of notable living individuals from every significant field of endeavor. Distributed globally, Marquis' “Who's Who in the World” is relied upon by business leaders, journalists, academics, and other professionals for its accuracy and currency of information. In addition, he has also been included in “2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st century”, published by the International Biographical Centre, UK; “Who’s Who in Science and Engineering”, 2006-2007 edition, published from the US; and in “Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders”, 2006 edition, published from the US and recognized internationally as a chronicle of men and women under the age of 40, who represent the best of a new generation of achievers worldwide.

Dr. Pithwa has also been actively involved in imparting training in spine surgery to postgraduate students of Orthopaedics. In recognition of this, he has been honored with an inclusion in “Leading Educators of the World”, 2006 edition, published by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, the UK.

He was also awarded the “Japanese-SICOT Foundation Award” for the year 2003.

He has also had an illustrious academic record earning the prestigious "Dr. AK Talwalkar Gold Medal" for the M.S. Orthopedics Examination, Mumbai University.He has also secured distinction marks in numerous subjects at the graduation level as well. As mentioned elsewhere, he is the first Indian to be officially accredited and recognized as a superspecialist in spine surgery by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.

He has also won accolades for scientific paper presentations on various topics in spine surgery at various conferences as detailed below;
